I created these cards particularly with established couples in mind. Whether you are finding your way back towards each other, deepening an already strong connection, or simply wanting meaningful time together, they offer a place to begin. Couples at the beginning of their relationship are welcome here too.
In my counselling work, I have heard a similar longing from many people: they want to understand and be understood by their partner, but don’t always know how to begin. Setting aside intentional time together can feel difficult when neither person knows what to say, or when the expectation of a “deep conversation” brings pressure of its own.
My heart behind these cards is to offer a gentle starting point, with room for honesty, warmth and discovery.
For each question, you take turns imagining what your partner’s answer would be, then listening as they share their own experience.
When your partner offers their impression, you have an opportunity to say what fits, what doesn’t, and what you would like them to understand. Even “That’s not quite how it is for me” can become the beginning of sharing something meaningful.
My intention with this structure is to ease some of the pressure that can bring our defences up. It may feel easier to explain your experience in response to a thoughtful guess than to introduce something vulnerable from scratch. Each person remains the authority on their own experience, with the freedom to share at their own pace.
There is no score to keep. The invitation is to meet each other’s answers with curiosity and care.
These cards began with a conversation between my husband and me about what it means to feel known by each other.
It began in a place of hurt. I was questioning how well we understood each other, and initially found myself looking for a way to measure that. Drawing on my background in counselling and psychology, I began exploring questions informed by relationship research, including Gottman’s concept of Love Maps.
As we talked, something shifted. We became less concerned with whether we could predict the “right” answer and more interested in what we were discovering. Questions opened into stories, feelings and experiences we hadn’t fully shared before. We found ourselves speaking vulnerably and listening openly, with a depth that came naturally through the conversation.
What began painfully became a meaningful opportunity for connection.
My Christian faith shapes the value I place on marriage and connection. I believe God cares deeply about how we love, listen and make room for one another, including the ordinary moments when we choose to be open and present together.
Absolutely! These are conversations you can return to.
Life changes us. Our experiences, perspectives, priorities and needs shift over time, and an answer that fits today may be different a year from now.
My hope is that these cards encourage us to remain students of each other: willing to ask again, listen afresh and keep learning about the person beside us.
Connecting a little more, one conversation at a time.
Your download includes 80 conversation cards, four reflection cards and instructions. The questions move from everyday interests and playful possibilities into feelings, memories, belonging and hopes for the future.
The 15-page PDF is designed for A4 printing, with six cards per card page. Print, cut and keep them to revisit together.

These cards are for families who want to make intentional time together, share a laugh and understand each other more deeply.
Everyone gets a turn, including the adults. Each person can respond in their own way, whether through a word, a story, a drawing or an example. There are no scores, and anyone can pass.
Choose whose answer you’re imagining, then take turns guessing what that person might say. They then share what fits, what doesn’t and their own answer. Rotate so everyone has a turn, including the adults.
Follow the cards in order as the questions deepen. Set aside 15–20 minutes, and give the conversation room to flow. The priority is understanding each other, not finishing quickly or completing a certain number of cards.
The four reflection cards invite you to share directly rather than guess.
Stay curious. Each person is the authority on their own experience, even when their answer is different from what you expected.
Listen without correcting, teasing or debating their response. Try asking, “Would you tell me more?” No one needs to share more than they want to.
The aim is to keep discovering each other, rather than prove how much you already know.
They are two different decks. Conversations for Families includes 80 questions about everyday life, feelings, memories, belonging and hopes, plus four reflection cards. It can be enjoyed by families of any faith or none.
The Families Faith Edition includes 120 questions exploring family life and faith in God, with Scripture reflections and optional prayer or practical responses.
Both invite curiosity, listening and meaningful connection.
These cards grew from a desire to help families make meaningful time together without needing to know where to start.
Informed by relationship research, counselling experience and family storytelling, the questions invite you to look beyond familiar routines and discover more about each person’s world.
They can be revisited as your family grows and experiences, perspectives and needs change.
Your download includes 120 conversation cards across nine themes, instructions and background notes. Every card includes a conversation question, a suggested Scripture passage, a short reflection and an optional prayer or practical response.
The 33-page PDF is designed for A4 printing, with four cards per card page.

These cards are for married couples who want to deepen their connection with each other and grow in their relationship with God.
Whether faith is something you already share openly or something you’re learning to explore together, the questions make room for your individual experiences, your marriage and the life you are building with God.
The nine themes explore your stories with God, how you experience Him, what is happening in your heart, questions and spiritual differences, faith when life hurts, supporting each other’s growth, making room for God together, living your faith within marriage and the future you are growing towards.
There is space to reflect on what needs renewing, what makes faith difficult, how you understand God’s place in your marriage and what it might look like to respond together.
Take turns imagining your spouse’s answer, then listen as they share what fits, what doesn’t and their own experience. Alternate who goes first.
Some cards invite you to respond together. “I don’t know, but I’d love to hear” is welcome, and either person can choose to share directly or pass.
Follow the cards in order as the themes deepen. Set aside intentional time, allowing the conversation to take priority over completing a certain number.
You do not need identical experiences, beliefs or spiritual practices to begin.
The cards invite honest exploration of differences, doubts, hopes and barriers. Each person speaks for their own experience. Listen without comparing spiritual maturity, correcting feelings or pressuring your spouse to give an expected answer.
You can explore what unity in your marriage might look like while continuing to understand where each of you is with God.
Every card suggests a Bible passage to read in context, using your preferred translation, alongside a short reflection.
Optional prayer and practical responses invite you to bring the conversation into your relationship with God and everyday married life. You might pray together, pray silently, offer encouragement or agree on a small next step.
The reflections are invitations to explore Scripture together. They do not speak on God’s behalf about your spouse or your marriage.
The original Conversations for Couples includes 50 questions about your inner worlds, relationship, needs and hopes, plus four reflection cards.
The Faith Edition is a separate, more extensive deck of 120 questions that intentionally explores those areas in relationship with God. Scripture, prayer and living out your faith together are woven throughout.
The cards bring together Christian Scripture and devotional reflection with relationship research concerning understanding your partner’s inner world, supportive listening, emotional responsiveness and facing challenges together.
They are research-informed conversation prompts, rather than a clinically validated programme or an assessment of your marriage or faith.
Yes. Your experiences, priorities, needs and relationship with God continue to develop.
Returning to a question can reveal something new about your spouse and create space to notice how you are growing, individually and together with God.
Pause when you need to. You can return another day, choose a different question or seek support with something that needs more care.
Keep the conversation kind and freely chosen. Neither person needs to disclose more than they wish, and Scripture or prayer should never be used to pressure someone into agreement, forgiveness or sharing.
Your download includes 120 conversation cards across ten themes, a cover, instructions and background notes. Every card includes a conversation question, a suggested Scripture passage, a short reflection and an optional prayer or practical response.
The 33-page PDF is designed for A4 printing, with four cards per card page.

These cards are for families who want to know each other more deeply and make room for God in everyday life.
Different generations bring different experiences, questions and perspectives. Everyone is invited to participate, including the adults. A word, a story, a drawing or a thoughtful question can all be ways to join in.
The ten themes explore noticing God in everyday life, knowing His love, talking and listening to Him, discovering Jesus, sharing our stories of faith, loving each other at home, navigating difficult days, gratitude and celebration, sharing God’s love and growing with God as a family.
Alongside playful and encouraging questions, there is room for the things that can be harder to express: doubts, barriers, differing beliefs, unanswered prayers and what we wish others understood about our faith.
Each card is labelled Guess first, Share or Together.
Guess first invites family members to imagine someone’s answer before that person shares their own experience. Share invites a direct response without guessing. Together opens a conversation where everyone can offer their perspective.
Rotate whose answer you’re exploring and who goes first. Adults join in too. “I don’t know” is welcome, and anyone can answer directly, pause or pass.
Set aside 15–20 minutes, or longer if you wish. Follow the cards in order as the themes deepen.
The priority is the conversation, not finishing quickly or completing a certain number of cards. Allow time for laughter, questions and whatever feels meaningful to explore together.
Use them around the dinner table, during a family evening or as part of a devotional moment.
No. This is a Christian resource that welcomes honest exploration, including uncertainty and differences in belief.
Each person speaks for their own experience. Listen without comparing faith, correcting feelings or expecting a particular answer. Adults can model curiosity by saying, “I haven’t thought about that before” or “I don’t know either.”
The aim is to make room for honest conversation about God and each other.
Every card suggests a Bible passage to read in context, using your preferred translation, alongside a short reflection.
Optional prompts invite prayer, encouragement or a small practical response. You might give thanks, pray for someone’s hope, offer support or choose an action to practise together.
Ask before praying for someone. Prayer can be spoken, silent, drawn or left for another time. You can also simply keep talking.
Yes. The cards make room for questions about God, experiences that have made faith difficult, things we’re afraid to ask and what helps us feel understood.
You do not need to resolve every question in one conversation. Listen before explaining, thank each other for sharing and allow uncertainty to remain when there isn’t a ready answer.
Anyone can pause or pass. If something needs more care or support, give it that space rather than trying to work through it with a card.
The original Conversations for Families includes 80 questions about everyday life, feelings, memories, belonging and hopes, plus four reflection cards. It can be enjoyed by families of any faith or none.
The Faith Edition is a separate deck of 120 questions exploring family life in relationship with God. Scripture reflections, optional prayer and practical ways to live out faith are woven throughout.
The cards bring together Christian Scripture and devotional reflection with relationship research concerning supportive listening, emotional understanding and family storytelling.
They are research-informed conversation prompts, rather than a clinically validated programme or an assessment of anyone’s faith.
Yes. Family life keeps changing, and so do our experiences, perspectives, needs and questions about God.
A familiar question may open a different conversation another time. With permission, remember something a family member is hoping or praying for and check in gently.
The invitation is to keep discovering God and each other, one conversation at a time.
Your download includes 80 conversation questions across nine categories, plus nine category introduction cards with guidance and optional experiences.
You receive both a 31-page single-sided PDF and a 58-page double-sided PDF with matching category backs. Instructions, printing guidance and research references are included.
Both versions are designed for A4 printing, with four cards per card page.
This is a digital download. No physical product will be sent.
These cards are for adult couples who want to understand each other more deeply and make room for honest conversations about sex and intimacy.
Whether your sexual connection feels enjoyable, familiar, complicated or difficult to talk about—or you’re not currently having sex—the questions invite you to begin where you are.
There is room for playfulness, curiosity, differing preferences and changing needs.
The nine categories explore flirting, what sex means to each person, desire and initiation, pleasure and bodies, fantasies and curiosities, emotional closeness, difficult experiences, rebuilding intimacy and your shared hopes.
Questions include sexual expectations and frequency, masturbation, pornography boundaries, props, role play and dirty talk, alongside the emotional experiences surrounding sex.
The deeper section, The Hard Things: Pressure, Shame & Hurt, is clearly labelled so you can choose those conversations intentionally.
Set aside 15–20 minutes together and choose a section you both feel comfortable exploring. The priority is the conversation, rather than completing a certain number of cards.
Guess first cards invite you to imagine your partner’s answer, then listen as they confirm, correct or fill in the gaps. Ask, “Would you like me to have a guess, or would you prefer to share?”
Share first cards invite each person to speak for themselves. Together cards make room for both perspectives.
Swap roles so both people have a turn, and alternate who goes first. Either person can share directly, pass or pause.
No. Something can be enjoyable to imagine, interesting to discuss or something you might consider exploring. Those do not have to mean the same thing.
Sharing a preference, fantasy or curiosity does not mean agreeing to try it. Optional experiences are invitations, and these conversations create no expectation of sex afterwards.
Each person remains the authority on their own experience and boundaries.
Pause whenever you need to. You can choose another question, return another day or decide that something needs more support.
You don’t have to navigate difficult experiences alone. Reaching out to a qualified counsellor or mental health professional, individually or together, can be a healthy, positive step.
If saying no or answering honestly could put you at risk, seek individual support rather than exploring these questions together. Pain or ongoing physical concerns also deserve appropriate medical care.
The cards draw on Gottman’s Love Maps approach to understanding a partner’s inner world, alongside research into sexual communication, partner responsiveness, differences in desire and sexual motivation.
The PDF includes a research summary and source references.
These are original, research-informed conversation prompts. The deck and its guessing format have not been clinically validated, and this is not an official Gottman product or a substitute for professional care.
The single-sided version has the questions and introduction cards with blank backs.
The double-sided version includes matching category backs with the deck title, symbol and card number. Its printing guide explains how to print at 100% on A4, flipping on the long edge.
Both contain the same questions and are included in your purchase. Choose whichever suits your printer and preferences.
No. Let’s Talk About Sex Baby has its own instructions and can be used independently.
It also complements the original Conversations for Couples, which explores your inner worlds, emotional needs, memories and hopes.
You can purchase both decks together for AUD $21.99, saving $2.99 compared with buying them separately.
Yes. Your bodies, circumstances, preferences and needs can change throughout your relationship.
Returning to a question creates room to discover what feels different, recognise what you’ve learned and keep understanding each other as you grow.
